Mainframe Capacity Planning Specialist/z/OS Performance & Capacity Specialist

We are seeking a Capacity & Performance Management Specialist to optimize performance and capacity across enterprise mainframe and Linux environments. This role focuses on analyzing SMF data, tuning system performance, and ensuring efficient resource utilization to support business-critical workloads.

The ideal candidate will leverage SAS/MXG, workload management, and performance monitoring tools to deliver data-driven insights and collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to maintain system stability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Required Skills

• Expertise in ThruPut Manager architecture and batch workload routing

• Strong experience analyzing SMF data for performance tuning and capacity planning

• Proficiency with MXG, SAS PDB processing, and SAS programming

• Experience managing SAS/MXG applications on Linux environments

• Strong Linux Bash scripting and automation skills

• Performance monitoring & tuning using RMF, Omegamon, TEPS, IntelliMagic

• Deep knowledge of WLM policy architecture & administration

• Solid understanding of mainframe architecture and performance optimization

• Ability to perform statistical analysis and translate SMF data into actionable insights

• Strong communication skills with ability to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
