Title: Junior Business Analyst – TRIA

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 Months +

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Business Analyst to support TRIA – Trial Risk Intelligent Automation, a GenAI-enabled clinical trial risk assessment solution within the Quality Workbench program. The Junior BA will work under the direction of the BA/Product lead to support requirements documentation, SME coordination, data-source mapping, meeting follow-ups, backlog organization, and overall delivery readiness activities.

This role is best suited for a junior resource who is structured, proactive, strong in documentation, and comfortable working across clinical quality business stakeholders, data science, data engineering, UI/product, and technical delivery teams.

Why This Role Is Needed

  • TRIA requires disciplined requirements tracking, backlog organization, stakeholder coordination, and documentation support as the solution progresses through active delivery.
  • The project involves multiple workstreams, including clinical quality business alignment, SME feedback, qualifying question refinement, document intake, structured data integration, GenAI workflow design, UI rendering, and governance readiness.
  • Business stakeholders are based primarily onshore, making regular coordination, meeting capture, and follow-up management important for timely execution.
  • The BA lead needs support managing detailed documentation, action items, open questions, risks, dependencies, and traceability across business, data science, data engineering, and UI teams.
  • A junior BA can provide focused execution support while allowing the lead BA/PM to concentrate on stakeholder decisions, roadmap alignment, release planning, and leadership communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support requirements gathering for TRIA, including CQP generation, qualifying question workflow, risk output review, source evidence traceability, and business review needs.
  • Document SME discussions, business decisions, open questions, risks, assumptions, dependencies, and follow-up actions in a clear and structured format.
  • Assist with maintaining BRD sections, user stories, process notes, requirement traceability, backlog inputs, meeting summaries, and stakeholder-ready updates.
  • Support mapping between qualifying questions, source evidence, structured data inputs, risk taxonomy, generated answers, risk candidates, CQP outputs, and UI display expectations.
  • Coordinate with clinical quality SMEs, business stakeholders, data science, data engineering, UI/product, architecture, and governance teams to clarify requirements and resolve open items.
  • Support Hugo or similar prototyping/design activities by translating business requirements, clinical trial workflows, SME feedback, and usability needs into clear design inputs for UI/product teams.
  • Help organize data-source and document-intake requirements, including protocol, IB, IPPI, SOPs, structured operational data, quality signals, deviations, audits, inspections, adverse events, escalations, and other approved trial evidence sources.
  • Assist with backlog refinement by converting business needs into clear requirement statements, acceptance criteria, and testable user stories.
  • Prepare concise status updates, action item summaries, decision logs, and presentation inputs for project leadership and governance meetings.
  • Support UAT readiness by helping define test scenarios, expected outcomes, evidence checks, and requirement-to-output traceability.
  • Maintain strong documentation discipline so the project has a reliable record of decisions, scope changes, SME feedback, release readiness, and unresolved dependencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Junior Business Analyst, Project Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role supporting technology, data, process improvement, clinical trial, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to create clear meeting notes, business requirements, process summaries, action trackers, and stakeholder-facing updates.
  • Ability to understand complex business discussions and translate them into structured requirements, business rules, assumptions, dependencies, and open questions.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail, especially when working with process flows, data inputs, source systems, output logic, and requirement traceability.
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and project collaboration tools.
  • Basic understanding of business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process mapping, data mapping, and testing support.
  • Basic familiarity with clinical trial processes, clinical study documentation, or regulated clinical quality workflows.
  • Ability to support prototype review, wireframe validation, or design feedback sessions using Hugo or comparable prototyping tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with SMEs, business users, and technical teams.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to follow through on multiple open items in a fast-moving project environment.
  • Ability to work independently with guidance from the BA/Product lead and escalate blockers or unclear requirements in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to pharmaceutical, life sciences, clinical trials, clinical quality, GxP/Google Cloud Platform, regulatory, or healthcare technology environments.
  • Experience supporting documentation-heavy projects, regulated business processes, quality systems, or AI/data product initiatives.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial documents such as protocols, investigator brochures, IPPI, SOPs, clinical quality plans, risk registers, or inspection-readiness materials.
  • Basic understanding of system integrations, structured and unstructured data sources, dashboards, AI-enabled workflows, or automation opportunities.
  • Experience supporting SME workshops, discovery sessions, process walkthroughs, or UAT preparation.
  • Hands-on exposure to Hugo, Figma, Miro, Lucidchart, or similar tools used for prototyping, wireframing, solution visualization, or design walkthroughs.
  • Basic SQL, data analysis, or dashboard exposure is a plus but not mandatory for a junior candidate.
