Senior Director, Technology Architecture & Engineering (Remote)
I''m partnering with a financially strong and growing Property & Casualty insurance organization that''s looking to add a Senior Director of Technology Architecture & Engineering to help lead the next phase of its enterprise technology transformation.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity where you''ll partner closely with executive leadership to mature enterprise architecture, modernize engineering practices, and help shape the future technology strategy of the organization. The company has recently completed a major core systems modernization and is now focused on elevating engineering excellence, architecture governance, DevOps maturity, and AI-driven software delivery.
Location: Fully Remote (Quarterly travel)
Salary: $230,000–$250,000 base + 35% target bonus
Responsibilities
- Lead and mature the Enterprise Architecture function across the organization.
- Drive engineering modernization, software development best practices, and technology standards.
- Partner with executive leadership on long-term technology strategy and roadmaps.
- Establish architecture governance, reference architectures, and technical standards.
- Improve software delivery through modern SDLC, CI/CD, DevOps, and automation practices.
- Guide cloud adoption, API strategy, system integrations, and modernization initiatives.
- Mentor architecture and engineering leaders while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI, and drive enterprise adoption where appropriate.
Preferred Background
- 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
- Experience leading Enterprise Architecture and Engineering organizations.
- Strong Property & Casualty insurance background.
- Guidewire experience strongly preferred (Duck Creek experience also considered).
- Experience with enterprise modernization, cloud transformation, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile delivery.
- Experience building and leading high-performing architecture and engineering teams.
- Executive presence with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.
- TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture framework experience is a plus.
