Summary
Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for successful planning, resource management,
technical quality, and delivery of construction documents and structural engineering
calculations. This role oversees a team of 2+ Engineers and 2+ Drafters, ensuring work is
performed accurately, efficiently, and within defined scope and budget. The Senior Project
Managers also play a critical role in staff development, fostering a culture of technical growth
and future leadership within the organization.
This position is remote, with periodic on-site visits as required for project or client coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project & Technical Leadership
- Prepare, review, and apply PE/SE seal to structural plans, reports, and calculations involving
- wood, masonry, concrete, and steel design.
- Utilize RISA, EnerCalc, Excel, and other engineering tools for structural analysis and design.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and company procedures.
- Provide conceptual and innovative structural solutions for unique or complex project
- challenges.
Project Management & Delivery:
- Define scope, allocate resources, schedule tasks, and manage project timelines to meet
- planned deliverables.
- Lead internal production team meetings and collaborate with the Production Director to
- manage workload and project distribution.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, architects, contractors, and design
- partners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Initiate, delegate, and manage Construction Administration (CA) tasks and conduct site
- observations to verify construction intent.
Financial & Business Accountability:
- Meet or exceed financial and utilization targets through efficient project management and
- resource allocation.
- Review and negotiate proposals, validate scope, manage project budgets, generate invoices,
- and support collections.
- Support business development efforts to strengthen client relationships and expand industry
- networks.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Mentor and guide engineers and drafters to enhance technical expertise and professional
- growth.
- Foster a collaborative team culture aligned with Ennovative Engineering’s values and standards.
- Contribute to leadership development and continuity planning for future firm growth.
Qualifications & Skills
- BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (MS preferred).
- 10+ years of relevant structural engineering experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE); Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of structural design concepts, codes, and industry practices.
- Proficiency with RISA, EnerCalc, Excel; working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, team-driven environment.
Preferred:
- Experience managing remote/virtual project teams.
- Demonstrated client-facing experience and negotiation skills.
- Strong network within Arizona or US AEC industry sectors.
