This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program (FBM), a 63-year-old Program with a long-standing history of Mission Success and of a strong partnership with our Navy Customer! Location: This position does not support teleworking; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Cape Canaveral FL and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like?

The new Hardware Engineer will support the LE2 program for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). Use your strong electrical engineering skills to work with all project partners and define the future for FBM!

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

In this dynamic role you will:
Participate in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, test and acceptance for a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical test systems and multifunction integrated test equipment in support of the US Navy's Ballistic Missile Flight Test Program.
Develop drawings/schematics for ground support equipment
Lead trade studies for architecture designs of Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support the design, procurement, assembly, test and verification of our automated test systems, including data review and trending.
Develop hardware requirements from subsystem to all locally assigned support equipment test systems.
Interface with suppliers and internal design teams to provide cost effective and low risk solutions.
Develop test system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal design and business teams, vendors and customers.
Support, as required, Failure Review Board activities through closure.
Ability to travel and work at alternate work sites as required, less than 25%.

To be effective in this role, you will need:

Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware
+5 years of professional experience for this role.
You will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance, thus ship is required.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.

Experience with hardware product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement).

Strong technical background with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or other similar systems.

Experience in one or more of the following: Creo, Windchill, Zuken, Pspice.

Desired skills

Experience working in projects teams and development efforts
Experience with interconnect design
Must be able to work autonomously and drive items to closure
Issue Tracking experience
Experience conducting trade studies
Experience with Telemetry Data Processing (TDP)
Experience working with RF
Demonstrated an ability to work with small diverse teams in development of tech products.
Experience reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentations
Experience troubleshooting System level
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $98,300 - $170,315. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
