Field TechnicianResponsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low-voltage cabling systems across commercial and industrial environments. This role includes pulling, routing, and terminating Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a, coax, and fiber optic cabling, as well as installing cable pathways such as J-hooks, ladder racks, and cable trays. Technicians work hands-on in the field, supporting network infrastructure buildouts, upgrades, and service needs.
Key Responsibilities- Install, terminate, and test network cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fiber optic, and coax) in commercial environments.
- Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to ensure accurate cable routing.
- Perform cable pulls through ceilings, walls, conduit, and raised floors; follow proper bend radius and cable management standards.
- Build and dress network racks, patch panels, and cable pathways using J-hooks, ladder rack, conduit, and cable trays.
- Label, document, and certify cabling in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues using meters and testing equipment such as Fluke testers, toners, and fiber scopes.
- Install and mount devices such as access points, security cameras, card readers, and network hardware (as applicable).
- Follow safety protocols and on-site procedures for construction, data centers, or controlled environments.
- Collaborate with project managers, leads, and other technicians to complete tasks on schedule.
- Provide field support for cutovers, upgrades, and maintenance activities as needed.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications- Experience with low-voltage cabling in commercial, construction, or data center environments.
- Strong understanding of cable routing, termination, color codes, and testing procedures.
- Familiarity with copper and/or fiber terminations (LC/SC/ST) is a plus.
- Ability to use ladders, hand tools, power tools, toner probes, Fluke tests, and related equipment.
- Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- OSHA 10, BICSI, or related certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work in varying environments: heights, small spaces, construction sites, or secure data centers.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
