Position: Senior Test Automation Engineer

Location: Washington, D.C. or Tysons, VA (On-site, 5 days a week)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Test Automation Engineer to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks using modern tools and technologies. This role requires a strong understanding of both UI and API test automation, as well as a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using industry best practices.
• Automate test cases for web and API applications using Playwright, Selenium, and Cucumber.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Manage and optimize project builds with Maven and Gradle.
• Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and product teams to ensure end-to-end test coverage.
• Troubleshoot automation failures and continuously improve test reliability and execution efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews, daily stand-ups, and sprint planning sessions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software test automation.
• Strong proficiency with Playwright for web automation (mandatory).
• Solid experience with Java, Selenium, Cucumber, Jenkins, Maven, and Gradle.
• Proven ability to design and implement custom automation frameworks from scratch.
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control tools like Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Must be willing to work on-site 5 days a week at the Washington, D.C. or Tysons, VA location.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with REST API automation and reporting tools (e.g., Allure, Extent Reports).
• Knowledge of cloud-based testing solutions or containerized test execution (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
