The Quality Engineering (QE) Test Lead is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions through robust test design, execution, and automation. This role partners closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). The QE Tester focuses on both functional and non-functional testing while continuously improving testing frameworks, processes, and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases based on functional, technical, and business requirements.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with developers and product owners to ensure acceptance criteria are clearly defined and testable.
- Identify, document, and track defects and quality risks, ensuring timely resolution.
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing.
- Perform various testing types, including functional, regression, integration, system, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Validate data integrity and database transactions where applicable.
- Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests into build and deployment workflows.
- Analyze test results and provide actionable quality metrics and reports.
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing strategies, tools, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Core Testing Skills:- Strong understanding of Quality Engineering principles and shift-left testing practices.
- Experience with test case creation, test execution, and defect management.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing.
Automation & Technical Skills:- Experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit, and Cucumber/BDD frameworks.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- API testing experience using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI.
- Understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
Data & System Skills:- Basic to intermediate SQL skills for backend and data validation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing microservices or distributed systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $45.00 and $51.08 per hour. A benefits package is available to eligible employees.
