Job Summary
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking a ServiceNow Technical Specialist to design, develop, customize, and support enterprise ServiceNow solutions across HR Service Delivery (HRSD), Workplace Service Delivery (WSD), IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM). The ideal candidate will have strong ServiceNow development experience, integration expertise, and the ability to deliver scalable solutions while collaborating with business and technical teams.

Note: Candidates must reside in North Carolina. While the role is primarily remote, occasional onsite meetings in Raleigh are required. The selected candidate must pick up equipment on the first day and return it at the end of the engagement at their own expense.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow applications, modules, forms, workflows, and custom scripts.
- Configure and customize ServiceNow modules including Incident, Change, Problem Management, HRSD, ITOM, ITSM, and SPM.
- Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external enterprise systems using APIs and web services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to workflows, scripts, integrations, and platform functionality.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for configurations, customizations, and integrations.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and business users to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Implement ServiceNow development best practices, coding standards, testing procedures, and change management processes.
- Participate in ServiceNow upgrades, patches, and platform maintenance activities.
- Ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable ServiceNow solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development and administration experience.
- Experience with ServiceNow HRSD, WSD, ITSM, ITOM, and SPM modules.
- Strong knowledge of web applications, networking concepts, protocols, and email technologies (SMTP, POP3).
- Working knowledge of ITIL v3 methodologies.
- Understanding of enterprise IT architecture and system integration.
- Experience with relational databases.
- Strong web development skills including XML, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, and HTTP.
- Experience working with LDAP directories such as Active Directory, OpenLDAP, or eDirectory.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
