Hexcel is currently seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (Government Cloud) for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA location, to lead the design, delivery, and operation of secure cloud services supporting U.S. government and regulated environments. Working with Azure Government and modern cloud technologies, you will be responsible for building secure, resilient, and compliant cloud platforms that enable business growth while meeting federal security requirements. This is a highly visible technical leadership role with opportunities to work across cloud architecture, security, governance, and operational excellence.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • Design, implement and support secure cloud solutions within Azure Government environments.
  • Build and maintain cloud platforms, landing zones and governance controls.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and industry security frameworks, policies and standards.
  • Lead the resolution of complex cloud infrastructure and security challenges.
  • Partner with security, compliance, legal and infrastructure teams on audits and accreditation activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement of cloud services, resilience and operational processes.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship and guidance to engineering teams.
  • Develop secure cloud architectures using Azure Government technologies and best practices.
  • Support incident response, disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, partners and service providers.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of hands-on experience delivering cloud services in Microsoft Azure, including at least three years supporting Azure Government environments.
  • Expertise in GovCloud and secure cloud architecture, design and implementation within regulated environments.
  • Experience with federal security and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, NIST CSF and DoD guidance.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure identity, networking, security and governance services.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform or Bicep.
  • Background in cloud security, risk management and audit or authorization support.
  • Knowledge of IT operations, including incident, problem and change management.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and team leadership skills.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications and security certifications (CISSP, CISM, Security+ or equivalent) preferred. ITIL or operational service management experience is strongly preferred.
