Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: Pennington, New Jersey (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. The engineer will be responsible for configuring and updating new applications, managing upgrades of existing infrastructure, and executing code deployments. This role involves administering and engineering highly available distributed systems, building high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and identifying opportunities for solution optimization and automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and update new applications, and upgrade existing infrastructure.
  • Administer and engineer highly available distributed systems.
  • Build and roll out high availability and disaster recovery for Linux and Windows infrastructure.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize current solutions and perform technical analysis.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to troubleshoot systems in production and test environments.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and developers to meet project objectives.
  • Automate manual processes to improve efficiency.
  • Independently solve common problems and update applications with new technology.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 6-8 years in a DevOps or related role.

Technical Skills:
  • Experience with Windows IIS, RHEL, and middleware such as WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, and WebSphere.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and deployment tools like XLRelease, Ansible, and Harness.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux environments, with a working knowledge of Linux commands.
  • Familiarity with application code deployments and environment management support.
  • Knowledge of issue management systems such as Jira, Quality Center, or Remedy.
  • Understanding of monitoring tools including AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or Splunk.
  • Proficiency with DevOps toolsets such as Jenkins, Maven/Ant, JFrog Artifactory, and GitHub/Bitbucket.


Work Schedule: Willingness to work a flexible shift schedule, including weekends and participation in an on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a CICD SDLC process, GUI application/server transfer, and automation tools.
  • Scripting ability with PowerShell or UNIX shell scripts.
  • Experience with data analytics.
  • Knowledge of MuleSoft and BladeLogic components.
