About the Role
We are seeking a highly driven New Product Design/Mechanical Engineer to join one of our clients in the manufacturing industry. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong product-focused mindset and hands-on experience in engineering design within manufacturing environments.
You will play a critical role in designing, modeling, and optimizing products while collaborating across multiple teams to ensure high-quality and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop engineering solutions using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and similar design tools
- Create and modify 3D models, detailed drawings, and sheet metal designs
- Collaborate with production, sales, management, and engineering teams throughout product lifecycle
- Lead and mentor engineering team members on assigned projects
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and client expectations
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to ensure design accuracy
- Perform product analysis and ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety protocols
- Seal and review engineering documents as required
- Apply strong problem-solving skills to analyze data and drive effective solutions
- Maintain project timelines using MS Project or similar tools
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on engineering experience required
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited University.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; experience with 3D modeling and sheet metal design is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience with Wildfire 4.0-5.0+ and CREO is a big plus
- Background working in a manufacturing design environment is a preference. (not looking for Construction or Civil Engineers)
- Demonstrates a safety mindset
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Ability to lead and mentor teams assigned to various projects
- Excellent organizational and financial management skills
- Results oriented / Accomplishment driven
- Product driven mindset is required
- Superior interpersonal skills (listening, speaking, and gathering information)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project (or similar software), MS Teams, and Access
- Collaborate with production, management, design, Sales, and other engineering teams throughout design and production phases.
- Professionally seal documents completed by yourself or other engineers.
- Demonstrate strong time management and project management skills to meet client expectations.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blue prints/schematics, technical procedures, and regulations.
- Commitment to continuous learning, professional growth, and mentorship of fellow team members.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Proficient in interpreting technical instructions and managing abstract and concrete variables.
- Expertise in design, modeling, and product analysis software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks and/or Revit, or similar.
