Job Description: The Senior Process Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the organization's expert in business process analysis, optimization, and continuous improvement. This role partners with business leaders, technical teams, and stakeholders to evaluate current-state operations, design future-state processes, and implement solutions that improve efficiency, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Senior Process SME provides strategic guidance, mentors cross-functional teams, and ensures business processes align with organizational objectives, industry best practices, and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the organization's primary subject matter expert for assigned business processes and operational workflows.
  • Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation including process maps, workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and business rules.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, ITIL, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Collaborate with business units, project managers, business analysts, architects, and technical teams to translate business requirements into effective process solutions.
  • Support enterprise transformation initiatives by ensuring business processes align with strategic goals and organizational priorities.
  • Conduct process maturity assessments and recommend improvement roadmaps.
  • Identify automation opportunities and work with technology teams to implement workflow automation and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Evaluate the impact of policy, regulatory, and organizational changes on business processes.
  • Facilitate change management activities, including stakeholder engagement, communication, and user adoption.
  • Provide expert guidance during system implementations, upgrades, and process integration efforts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Expert knowledge of business process management (BPM) principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of organizational management practices.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to interpret business strategy and translate it into operational improvements.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience developing dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with tactical execution.

  • Cross-functional leadership across business and technical organizations.

Clearance:
  • A Secret clearance and U.S. Citizenship are required to be considered for the position.
