Senior Workday Engineer – HCM & Financials
Location: Manhattan, NY (Local to NJ/NY Only)
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Workday Engineer with deep expertise in Workday HCM and Financials to support a post-go-live enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will act as a senior escalation point, handling complex configurations, integrations, reporting, and production support activities.
This role requires strong hands-on experience in Workday configuration, business process optimization, and enterprise integrations, along with the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and support continuous system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
· Advanced Workday Configuration
· Perform complex configuration across Workday HCM and Financials modules
· Design and optimize Business Process Framework (BPF) workflows
· Configure and troubleshoot role-based security and domain access
· Support rollout of modules such as Advanced Compensation and Procurement
Reporting & Data
· Develop advanced, matrix, and composite reports
· Build dashboards for HR, Finance, and leadership teams
· Create calculated fields and custom reports using Workday Report Writer and BIRT
· Handle ad hoc and recurring reporting requests
Integrations & Data Movement
· Develop and support integrations using Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
· Troubleshoot issues across standard and complex enterprise integrations
· Support data loads, mass updates, and data corrections
· Assist with integration testing during releases and system changes
· Work with integration tools (SnapLogic experience is a plus)
Production Support
· Resolve complex issues escalated beyond administrator level
· Support Workday quarterly releases including impact analysis and regression testing
· Troubleshoot business process defects and system anomalies
· Respond to production issues with strong root cause analysis
System Enhancements & Optimization
· Evaluate and prioritize enhancement requests
· Recommend Workday best practices and configuration improvements
· Optimize tenant performance post-implementation
· Identify technical debt and propose remediation strategies
Collaboration & Governance
· Partner with internal Workday Application and Product Managers
· Participate in roadmap planning and system improvement discussions
· Provide documentation and knowledge transfer
· Coordinate with implementation partners for alignment
Required Qualifications
· 14+ years of overall HRIS / enterprise application experience
· 8–10+ years of hands-on Workday experience (HCM & Financials)
· Strong experience in post-go-live / production support environments (AMS)
Deep expertise in:
· Workday HCM (Core, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Absence)
· Workday Financials (GL, AP/AR, Procurement, Reporting)
· Strong experience with Business Process Framework (BPF)
· Expert-level reporting skills (Report Writer, BIRT, Calculated Fields)
· Hands-on experience with EIB integrations
· Ability to work independently as a senior escalation resource
Preferred Qualifications
· Workday Pro Certification (HCM, Financials, or Integrations)
· Experience with Advanced Compensation and Procurement modules
· Familiarity with SnapLogic or other iPaaS tools
· Experience in regulated industries (Finance preferred)
· Experience supporting Workday quarterly release cycles
