Texas Instruments is looking for a new Applications Validation & Verification (AVV) Engineer to join our Advanced Technology Integration (ATI) group. The AVV takes a top-down wholistic approach to validating our next gen Automotive and Industrial SoC designs. In this role, you will design, create, and execute tests that validate many of the system's features at once, mimicking end-user applications. You will analyze not only functionality but also performance(throughput, latency, MIPS, etc.) and power(Operational, Idle, Low-power modes) as well as work on both pre-silicon emulation platforms and real silicon. You will be working purely in baremetal(C with some assembly); no operating system, no kernel.

Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluate SoC designs with Systems Experts to determine key targets for V&V.
• Design and document test plans for SoCs.
• Create tests using C (with some assembly), with support from scripting languages.
• Debug tests and designs on pre-silicon emulation platforms.
• Repeat test execution and debugging on real silicon.
• Work cross-functionally with design team and other validation teams to ensure all tests pass.
• Document results, issues encountered, flows used, tools created, etc.
• Support cross-functional teams and FAEs fielding customer questions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Engineering or related degree
• 5 years engineering experience working with silicon design and/or validation
• Experience with digital/embedded design on emulation/FPGA platforms/RTL Sim

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient in C/C++ programming
• Advanced knowledge of computer architectures (at least those related to DDR interfaces and associated system interconnects)
• Advanced knowledge of digital logic
• Intermediate knowledge of hardware design languages
• Experience with embedded systems debugging
• Experience debugging with digital waveforms
• Advanced level of technical competence and understanding
• Advanced level of imaginative & process-based problem-solving skills
• Multi-disciplinary; able to work and contribute in multiple technical domains
• Self-learner; able to study from documentation and code
• Taskmaster; able to self-start and still tackle complex tasks
• Experience working with DDR(4/5/LP4/LP5) interfaces in both pre- and post-silicon.
• Experience with cacheing and coherency validation
• Experience with pre-silicon power measurement
• Proficient in assembly programming
• Experience with DSPs, especially C6x/C7x
• Experience with TI SoCs
• Proficient in automation/scripting using regular expressions
