This Principal Experience Designer position is a contract position based in South San Francisco, CA. The pay range is $62.20 to $103.
The Digital Experience team is shaping how we connect with patients and customers through human-centered design, digital innovation, AI-enabled engagement, end-to-end content management, and omnichannel operations—creating seamless, personalized, and compliant experiences. In partnership with key stakeholders across Marketing, Customer Engagement, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs & Access (CMG), this team is accountable for:
- Defining and operationalizing omnichannel engagement strategies and experiences
- Accelerating development of digital solutions that improve the patient/customer journey
- Delivering consistent, meaningful experiences with compliance at the forefront
Job Summary
This role drives strategy and delivery for the Customer Experience (CX) Suite, ensuring UX/UI and CX design capabilities accelerate business impact. You’ll serve as a key individual contributor and subject matter expert, helping shape digital products and mentoring junior designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the experience design vision and standards aligned to business priorities and industry trends
- Partner with senior leaders to align stakeholder needs, technical feasibility, and process improvements
- Lead innovation workstreams and experimentation to advance product features
- Define target users, translate research into priorities, and set clear performance objectives
- Own key design initiatives tied to planning, execution, milestones, adoption, and engagement outcomes
- Communicate and champion the value of UX/UI and CX design across the enterprise
- Drive prioritization, stakeholder management, and roadmap alignment across teams
- Collaborate with Informatics and Product partners to ensure business value and system performance
- Support business cases, funding needs, and requirements for product usage and system health
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies

Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 10+ years of experience, including 7+ years in UX/product/experience design
- Proven ability to own product vision, roadmaps, execution, and impact measurement
- Strong cross-functional stakeholder leadership and communication skills
- Experience in agile environments and partnering with Legal/Compliance/Privacy
- Innovative, adaptable, and strategic—comfortable navigating ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in healthcare/pharma or highly regulated industries
- Success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Experience with workflow/automation tools, compliance frameworks, and design systems
