The Montana Board of Crime Control's (MBCC) mission is to proactively contribute to public safety, crime prevention and victim assistance through planning, policy development and coordination of the justice system in partnership with citizens, government and communities in Montana. In support of this mission, MBCC is comprised of twenty-one dedicated employees possessing a shared vision of public service for Montana's most vulnerable citizens

What is this career opportunity?

This position provides database design, development, content management and administration support for MBCC's database hosting services and to assist with deployment of state standard database technology, Euna Grants Management System, Juvenile Detention Data and Reporting System, Board Member Web Access System, and MBCC's web environment using Cascade, a web-based content management system. The duties typically involve creating and configuring production content for databases using established procedures, database development, backup and recovery strategies, technical support, and software patch management and maintenance of relational database systems for mission-critical operations.

This includes configuring database content parameters; modifying database content environments through coding, testing, and implementation; and running test programs to validate functionality and correct errors. Duties also include planning and implementing database content security measures, managing user access and permissions, and ensuring data security protocols are in place and functioning.

The position involves making strategic decisions about database design, maintenance and tuning, as well as diagnosing and troubleshooting complex content issues, monitoring database performance, and performing performance tuning. The Data Systems Analyst also installs content upgrades and patches and supports user needs by extracting data and responding to content requests using existing tools.
