Summary



Position Summary



The organization is seeking an IIDR Installation Specialist to lead the setup and configuration of replication solutions involving DB2 iSeries tables and cloud environment integration. The role involves installing, configuring, and securing data replication agents and related tools to ensure seamless data transfer from legacy systems to cloud storage via Kafka.


Key Responsibilities



  • Install and configure source IIDR agents in AS 400 environments

  • Install and configure Confluent Kafka, including security roles and creating Kafka topics

  • Collaborate with the team to create user accounts with keytabs for Kafka connection

  • Develop standard operating procedures for Kafka topic creation

  • Attach entitlements to Kafka topics in coordination with the team

  • Install and configure IIDR access servers

  • Install and configure target IIDR agents in virtual machines

  • Create and set up data replication subscriptions with appropriate mappings and configurations

  • Coordinate with security teams to open bidirectional firewall ports between AS 400 and VMs

  • Configure firewall settings to enable user connections from laptops to the server using IBM CDC UI


Required Qualifications



  • Experience installing and configuring IIDR replication agents in legacy systems

  • Knowledge of setting up Kafka environments and managing security roles

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams on system setup and security configurations

  • Strong understanding of data replication, data migration, and cloud integration procedures

  • Familiarity with firewall configuration and network security practices


Preferred Qualifications



  • Prior experience with DB2 iSeries data environments

  • Experience configuring virtualized servers for replication

  • Knowledge of enterprise data integration standards and procedures

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and data lake environments

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex data environments
