Operations Research Systems Analyst

Our organization is in search of a driven, career-focused, and customer-oriented Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA) to become a part of our team located in Quantico, VA.

This position plays a crucial role in facilitating intricate wargaming events, utilizing analytical techniques to evaluate future force capabilities and influence Marine Corps doctrine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement wargames and tabletop exercises that align with the strategic goals of the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory.
• Utilize operations research, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling methods to assess wargame results and operational concepts.
• Work collaboratively with military planners, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to establish wargame scenarios, objectives, and evaluation criteria.
• Gather, process, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data produced during wargaming events to uncover trends and identify capability gaps.
• Prepare detailed analytical reports, presentations, and briefings to convey findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Assist in the integration of modeling and simulation tools to improve the realism and analytical depth of wargame execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor s degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Data Science, or a related analytical field, along with over 5 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis supporting military operations, wargaming, or defense planning. Alternatively, a total of 10 years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Proven expertise in statistical analysis software and data visualization tools (such as Python, R, Tableau, Excel).
• A solid understanding of the Marine Corps organizational structure, doctrine, and concepts related to future force design.
• Demonstrated ability to convert complex data into actionable insights and effectively communicate with non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Master s degree in Operations Research or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in designing evaluation frameworks and data collection strategies for exercises or wargames.
• Familiarity with combat modeling and simulation tools utilized within the Department of Defense.
• Previous military experience, especially within the United States Marine Corps, with a background in operational planning.

Clearance Requirements:

• An active current TS/SCI security clearance is required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be capable and willing to perform occasional manual labor and warehouse tasks, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
