Mainframe Technical Specialist

Introduction: As a Mainframe Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting mainframe systems, with a focus on COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and CICS. You will work closely with the development and operations teams to ensure the smooth functioning of mainframe applications and databases.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain COBOL programs for mainframe applications
• Design, implement, and optimize DB2 databases
• Create and manage VSAM datasets
• Write and debug JCL scripts for batch processing
• Provide support for CICS transactions and programs
• Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve mainframe-related issues
• Perform system upgrades and maintenance tasks
• Document processes and procedures related to mainframe systems

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in COBOL programming language
• Experience working with DB2 databases
• Familiarity with VSAM datasets
• Knowledge of JCL scripting language
• Understanding of CICS transaction processing
