Description:

The Senior Hosting Infrastructure Administrator is a hands on technical leader responsible for the stability, performance, and evolution of our Linux server environment across both on prem and cloud platforms. You'll support critical enterprise workloads, including SAP on Linux, ensuring systems are resilient, secure, and highly available. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you'll serve as a senior technical authority—tackling complex issues, shaping infrastructure design, strengthening data protection, and driving automation. While you won't have direct reports, you'll mentor peers, provide technical leadership, and collaborate closely with manufacturing, application, and IT teams to ensure infrastructure reliably powers the business.

Linux, Cloud & Manufacturing Infrastructure
  • Own the reliability, performance, and evolution of Linux platforms across physical, virtual, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
  • Partner closely with manufacturing, automation, SAP, and application teams to keep mission critical systems available, resilient, and recoverable.
  • Provide OS level leadership for SAP on Linux, including performance tuning, patch coordination, and controlled system restarts.
  • Influence infrastructure design decisions to improve scalability, reliability, and operational resilience.

Storage, Data Protection & Disaster Recovery
  • Lead administration of enterprise storage platforms and coordinate firmware, OS, and compatibility upgrades.
  • Own backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Plan and execute disaster recovery testing to validate recoverability and business readiness.

Automation, Monitoring & Reliability Engineering
  • Design and maintain automation scripts and configuration assets using version controlled repositories.
  • Automate provisioning, validation, configuration, and operational workflows.
  • Expand monitoring and alerting to proactively detect issues and reduce unplanned downtime.

Security & Infrastructure Operations
  • Apply Linux security best practices, including patching, hardening, access controls, encryption, and zero trust principles.
  • Support data center operations such as power, cooling, racking, cabling, and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Lead planned and unplanned maintenance while minimizing impact to business and manufacturing operations.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as 3rd level escalation for complex Linux, cloud, storage, and automation incidents.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level administrators through technical guidance and best practice sharing.
Projects, Standards & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead or contribute to medium and large scale infrastructure initiatives, including plant expansions.
  • Research emerging technologies to strengthen reliability, security, and automation.
  • Develop technical standards, documentation, and operating procedures.
  • Help define and track KPIs/KRIs that drive continuous improvement.

On Call & Operational Support
  • Participate in a shared on call rotation.
  • Provide occasional night and weekend support in a 24×7 environment, including manufacturing systems.

Your Education and Experience.
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of hosting or infrastructure experience with strong Linux production support.
  • Hands on AWS and/or Azure experience.
  • Experience supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred
  • Manufacturing or plant floor Linux experience.
  • SAP on Linux experience.
  • Cloud certification (AWS or Azure Associate or equivalent).
  • Mid-level Linux certification.
