Summary

Overview

App Service is a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offering and one of the top services in Azure all-up (with most paying customers of any Azure compute service). The service powers Web Apps, Mobile Apps, API Apps, Logic Apps and Functions, a hot offering for the serverless world.

As the service grows (millions of machines powering the back-end) and the pace is always increasing (adding new scale units every week), we are looking for engineers that are passionate about managing a service which spans across many continents and time zones, live site excellence, monitoring (our goal is to deliver a world class availability and stability to our customers while keeping the service secure and safe) and engineering improvements.

The ideal candidate can be productive independently but will contribute to and benefit from a collaborative and diverse team environment both locally and remotely. Success on this team requires adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills. Key responsibilities include:
Manage deployment and buildout of the services
Troubleshoot production issues
Automate manual processes
Support on-call rotations every few months
Write technical support guides, incident post-mortems, deployment documentation, and other types of technical documents
Ensure security and compliance
Collaborate with other Azure teams
