THE ROLE:

AMD's Server DevOps team is looking for a highly talented Server & Data Center GPU Devops Manager with strong leadership and communication skills to lead our Austin-based Server and Data Center GPU firmware DevOps team.

THE PERSON:

Candidate must be passionate about improving firmware build quality through automation and proven experience as a technical lead or people manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead a team responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for Server and Data Center GPU firmware
  • Champion of build quality to drive ongoing efforts to improve the quality of our firmware releases and reliability of our CI/CD Infrastructure
  • Lead development of new features with an Agile and milestone driven product development model
  • Host retrospectives to learn from bugs and apply corrective actions to proactively prevent similar issues in the future
  • Communicate and collaborate with other teams to solve problems and optimize execution
  • Closely interact with firmware developers in new feature definition and bring up for future product generations
  • Improve customer satisfaction and product quality by increasing pipeline test coverage and efficiency
  • Accountable on time delivery of deliverables
  • Is required to routinely interface and collaborate with other internal groups on behalf of the group or project
  • Has accountability for results in a particular area of work
  • Accountability for a team of engineers , (e.g., be involved in any of the following activities: interview and selection, day-to-day technical supervision and mentoring)
  • Influences others as a technical leader
  • Builds and leverages trusting relationships with stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prior experience managing people and technical teams
  • Prior experience with SCM tools like git/github and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, github actions
  • Good understanding of DevOps principles and practices
  • Experience with Groovy, Python, Shell Languages
  • Knowledge of container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools like ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Grafana is a plus
  • Proficiency with artifact management tools like JFrog Artifactory and Harbor
  • Programming using scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Perl) mandatory and familiarity computer programming languages (C, C++, X86 assembly) preferred
  • Working knowledge of Agile software development processes
  • Solid knowledge of automating software/firmware test plans targeting Linux or Windows environments
  • Solid knowledge of software development under Microsoft Windows and Linux as a plus
  • Solid knowledge of PC architecture
  • Solid knowledge of BIOS/Firmware interfaces (UEFI, ACPI, SMBIOS) or Windows and Linux kernel as a plus

EDUCATION:
  • BS + relevant working experience in DevOps, software QA or software development
