Data Center Technician Level 2

Level 2 JD:

Key Responsibilities

● Reading and understanding the engineering and design package(s)

● Reviewing bill of materials to confirm that all necessary materials are included

● Assembling and installing network hardware

● Running and patching pre-terminated fiber optic cabling

● Labeling hardware and connections

● Assisting network engineers with troubleshooting and provisioning

● Collecting deliverables such as pictures of completed work

● Reporting daily progress to the team lead and/or customer

● Cooperating with other technicians to execute large projects in a timely manner

● Coordinating with external partners to ensure smooth execution

● Maintain work areas and storage spaces

● Support other internal teams as needed if project work is slow

● Participate in on-call rotation for emergency troubleshooting

Required Qualifications

● Proficiency with Google Workspace products like Sheets and Docs.

● The ability to move about the work area for long durations to perform essential job functions

● The ability to regularly carry a 20lbs ladder

● The ability to lift 50lbs hardware multiple times per day

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience in commercial or hyperscale network construction/installation

● Experience installing fiber optic or low-voltage cabling

● Experience in another construction field

● Experience repairing network equipment or cabling
