Job Title: Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer

Location: Issaquah, WA-Local Only
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies, with expertise in Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes for ingesting, transforming, and loading large datasets.
Develop and manage data solutions using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Composer, and Cloud Storage.
Integrate data from multiple sources including APIs, databases, flat files, and streaming platforms.
Implement batch and real-time data processing solutions.SA
Optimize data models, SQL queries, and cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency.
Work closely with Data Architects, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and application teams.
Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards are met.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and production issues.
Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.

Required Skills

7+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
Strong experience with:
- BigQuery
- Dataflow
- Dataproc
- Cloud Storage
- Pub/Sub
- Cloud Composer (Airflow)
Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines.
Proficiency in Python, PySpark, or Java.
Experience with Apache Spark and distributed data processing.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
Strong understanding of cloud security and IAM concepts.
