Position Summary:

The Engineer, Supplier Quality is responsible for supplier quality management through assessment, monitoring and improvement of supplier quality systems. Communicates and adheres to quality standards, test methods, process control techniques, and inspection/testing plans to ensure safety, reliability, and efficacy of new and modified products and processes. Works closely with Quality Engineering, Supply Chain and Product Development teams to meet established goals and objectives.

Essential Functions:
  • Evaluates and qualifies suppliers to ensure technical and quality requirements can be met; evaluation may include due diligence activities to select or transfer manufacturing or sourcing strategies
  • Schedules, plans and performs supplier audits, including creation of audit reports and management of corrective actions related to audit non conformances
  • Provides technical guidance for identifying and resolving quality issues using quality tools and structured problem-solving methodologies; communicates identified corrective action to suppliers
  • Evaluates and determines the internal requirements for approval of supplier change requests
  • Collaborates in supplier development projects and continuous improvement activities focusing on supplier quality
  • Develops new quality initiatives, participates in quality system development, procedure writing and review, and improves quality and reliability of products
  • Supports the analysis and presentation of information to management concerning measures of product and service quality, supplier performance, manufacturing problems, and design issues as identified through various quality systems program elements
  • Conducts investigations and product impact analysis to support Non-Conforming Material program and product feedback
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to read blueprints / drawings of complex machined components, electrical components and assemblies, including GD&T
  • Review technical publications, articles, and abstracts to develop applicable skills and to stay abreast of quality, regulatory, compliance, and technical developments in the industry
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent work experience
  • 3 - 6 years minimum experience in a regulated environment in Quality Engineering, Assurance and or Manufacturing / Engineering (design) environment required
  • American Society for Quality Certified Engineer (CQE) desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail.

  • Advanced critical thinking and problems-solving skills
  • Ability to travel both domestic and international as needed.
