Job Summary

UST is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer (Playwright) with strong expertise in UI automation, API testing, SQL, and end-to-end quality engineering. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing scalable automation frameworks, validating enterprise applications, and working closely with Agile development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

 

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright automation.
  • Strong experience in UI Automation Testing.
  • Experience with API Testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries and validating backend data.
  • Experience testing Stored Procedures and database validations.
  • Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Azure SQL / T-SQL experience.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of test reporting and defect management tools.
  • Experience working with packaged enterprise applications.
  • Exposure to continuous testing practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Playwright automation frameworks.
  • Create and execute automated and manual test cases for UI, API, and backend validation.
  • Collaborate with developers and business teams to understand requirements and define testing strategies.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Validate APIs, databases, and stored procedures using SQL.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects.
  • Prepare test plans, test cases, RTM, execution reports, and defect summaries.
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend preventive measures.
  • Ensure maximum automation coverage and improve QA processes.
  • Participate in sprint planning, grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous testing initiatives.
  • Monitor quality metrics and ensure timely delivery of testing activities.
