Location: Remote within the South region (TX-FL-NC-VA) near a major airport | 40-50% weekday travel

This position serves as the technical hydraulic authority for the South region (TX-FL-NC-VA), partnering closely with the sales team to develop and apply engineered fluid power solutions. The engineer will work directly with customers to design hydraulic circuits, specify components, and support implementation of manifold and valve-based systems. This role blends customer-facing business development support with hands-on hydraulic system design.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Serve as the hydraulic system design resource for assigned customers and applications
- Travel with sales representatives to support customer visits, design discussions, and solution development
- Design hydraulic circuits including valve selection, manifold layouts, filtration, and motion control components
- Translate customer functional requirements into practical hydraulic system solutions
- Review and interpret technical specifications and apply them to product and system configurations
- Participate in design reviews with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams
- Respond to application inquiries from customers, sales, product engineering, and operations
- Support customers in implementation and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems
- Identify opportunities to expand hydraulic product sales within existing accounts
- Provide Voice of Customer feedback to product divisions for new product development
- Train and educate sales teams on hydraulic products and solution-selling strategies
What You Bring to the Table
- Strong hydraulic circuit design experience (mechanical fluid flow systems, not electrical)
- Ability to design functional systems using valves, manifolds, filtration, and related hydraulic components
- Experience supporting customer applications in mobile or industrial equipment markets
- Comfortable in customer-facing environments with sales collaboration
- Ability to travel 40-50% within the region (weekday travel)
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and system integration principles
- Self-directed, organized, and able to manage multiple customer projects
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering required; Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
- Experience designing and/or applying hydraulic products in mobile or industrial markets
