Summary

Description

This position will report to the Alarms supervisor along with another system alarm technician to support the many life safety systems (Fire, Intrusion, CCTV, 24x7, 365 on call support), and working with Safety and Risk, as well as the local AHJ (Fire Marshal). The candidate must have/be able to: Strong alarm technology knowledge and work experience Project manage/work independently with minimal supervision Good customer interaction skills. We support the University, Health Sciences (HSC) organizations, staff, students and non UNM agencies (UNM Research Park tenants, Student services, UNM Rain Forest, and other similar groups/locations) Estimating, design for new, remodel and existing buildings for all life safety aspects Working with UNM police on life safety or like incidents, and support of their operation Disaster recovery support with design, engineer, configuration and support, along with documentation Interfacing with vendors, carriers of telecommunications products, designs and support as needed Research and test all aspects of Life Safety components and systems Cherwell and Pinnacle interface, support as needed for IT Alarm support for trouble tickets, incidents and projects Review of budget, invoicing, expenses, tracking of products, use of the PCard process and audit ability Performs and coordinates the maintenance and installation of building fire alarm systems, electronic premises security systems, and the alarm monitoring station for the University. Leads, and coordinates the day-to-day work of subcontractors. Prepares estimates and customer proposals, and interfaces with clients to ensure customer satisfaction. Performs associated administrative duties Responsibilities/Qualifications: On call support 24x7 Funding modeling basic Security or other like committee representation Design, installation and maintenance of systems for life safety This is an on-site position, where the employee works entirely (100% of the time) at a UNM worksite. Minimum Requirements: - High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. - Certification/Licensure: State of New Mexico ES-3J Journeyman Low Voltage Special Systems (under 50 volts). - Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check. Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. WHILE ON CONTRACT THE TEKSYSTEMS CONTRACTOR WILL NEED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN VEHICLE, LADDER (NEED TO ACCESS UP TO 20FT.) AND TOOLS, ONCE CONVERTED TO FTE, UNM WILL PROVIDE THOSE

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
