This is a hands-on role with firmwide impact. You will be the person our team turns to when technology gets in the way of their work, and the person who looks ahead to prevent those problems, improve workflows, and make sure our tools are worth the investment.

What You'll Do:
● Build internal web applications and dashboards that give attorneys and staff a clear view of matters, deadlines, tasks, and firm performance.
● Connect the firm’s existing platforms, including practice management, document management, Google Workspace, billing, intake, and electronic signature, through their APIs and data exports so information moves between systems without manual re-entry.
● Design and maintain the databases behind these tools, including how matters, parties, roles, and deadlines are structured.
● Build secure logins and access controls so each user sees only the matters and information they are permitted to see.
● Automate repetitive workflows such as intake, document generation, calendaring, and reporting.
● Recommend when an existing product or low-code tool is a better choice than custom software.
● Deploy, host, monitor, and back up the applications you build, and resolve problems quickly when they arise.
● Use AI tools where they help, and evaluate proposed AI automations for accuracy and confidentiality risk.
● Document what you build so the firm can understand, maintain, and keep using it.
● Train attorneys and staff on new tools and gather their feedback to improve them.
● Assist with everyday technology support, including setting up and removing employee accounts and troubleshooting system issues.
What We're Looking For:
● 3+ years building and shipping web applications used by real people, with work you can show us.
● Experience across the full stack: a modern front-end framework (such as React or Vue), a back-end language (such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, or Python), and a relational database (such as PostgreSQL or MySQL).
● Experience integrating third-party platforms through REST APIs.
● Experience deploying and maintaining applications on a cloud platform such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
● Solid understanding of authentication, permissions, and protecting confidential data.
● Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot, and the judgment to review what they produce.
● Ability to gather requirements from non-technical users, set priorities, and ship independently without a large team.
● Clear communication and the ability to explain technical decisions to attorneys and staff.
● Experience with Google Apps Script, Google Workspace APIs, or legal practice management software is a plus.
● Law firm or professional services experience is a plus, not required.
