Storage Engineer (IPv6 Support) – Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Storage Engineer with IPv6 support experience to design, implement, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise storage environments and network connectivity. The ideal candidate should have expertise in storage technologies, data protection, and IPv6-enabled infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain enterprise storage systems and related infrastructure.
  • Manage storage allocation, performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning.
  • Support IPv6-enabled storage and network environments.
  • Configure and troubleshoot SAN, NAS, and backup solutions.
  • Perform storage migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Monitor storage health, system alerts, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with network, server, virtualization, and security teams.
  • Ensure backup, replication, and business continuity processes are functioning effectively.
  • Troubleshoot storage connectivity, latency, and network-related issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in storage administration and support.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Storage Area Network (SAN)
    • Network Attached Storage (NAS)
    • RAID configurations
    • Backup and recovery concepts
    • IPv4 and IPv6 networking
  • Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as:
    • Dell EMC
    • NetApp
    • HPE
  • Familiarity with storage protocols including iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, and Fibre Channel.
  • Experience with monitoring and management tools.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Windows server environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools like PowerShell or Python.
  • Understanding of cloud storage platforms and hybrid infrastructure.

Preferred Certifications

  • NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA)
  • Dell EMC Proven Professional
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Soft Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Good communication and coordination abilities
  • Ability to work in rotational shifts and handle critical incidents
  • Attention to detail and documentation practices
