Position: Product Analyst
Client Location: Washington, DC
Work Mode: 5 days onsite (No remote/hybrid exceptions)
Must Have Skills:
The Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and continuously refining the product direction for a delivery team that practices spec-driven development. This role bridges business goals, user needs, technical feasibility, and delivery execution by ensuring that product specifications are clear, testable, traceable, and aligned before development begins.
The Product Owner will work closely with business, technology, engineering, and design to translate product strategy into high-quality specifications that guide implementation and reduce ambiguity throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, user needs, risk, governance requirements, and delivery readiness.
- Lead the creation and refinement of clear, testable specifications before development begins.
- Translate business goals and user needs into requirements, acceptance criteria, and success measures.
- Partner with business, technology, engineering, and design to validate scope, feasibility, dependencies, and trade-offs.
- Manage required governance processes, approvals, documentation, and checkpoints to support compliant delivery.
- Lead daily standups to align the team on priorities, progress, blockers, and next steps.
- Serve as the primary product decision-maker for the team during planning, development, reviews, and release readiness.
- Ensure delivered work aligns with approved specifications and achieves intended outcomes.
- Continuously improve backlog quality, specification practices, and team alignment.
