Microsoft Purview solutions is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to offer integrated coverage to address data fragmentation across organizations, improve visibility for data protection and governance, and address the merging of traditional IT management roles. Our team drives engineering efficiency by leading cost-optimization initiatives across our services-strategically migrating Azure resources and continuously improving resource utilization and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of of robust workflows that streamline deployment and optimize the operations of Microsoft Purview solutions across specialized clouds.
  • Mentor and guide engineers, providing technical direction, reviewing code, and ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, security professionals, and data scientists to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Optimize platform performance to handle vast amounts of data across diverse digital systems while ensuring scalability, availability, and security.
  • Drive end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality results.
  • Work on cloud-native technologies and distributed systems to build a robust, resilient, and secure platform.
  • Continuously improve the platform by leveraging new technologies and best practices in security, data governance, and cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
  • 9+ years of experience building software systems, with a focus on large-scale, distributed platforms.
  • Programming skills in languages such as C#, Java, or C++.
  • Experience guiding and mentoring engineers, driving their projects to completion.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Understanding of security principles and the challenges of securing large-scale systems.
  • Experience working with high-scale, mission-critical SaaS products, including service operations.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
