Job Description
Role Summary:
The New gTLD Program Org Design Consultant will support the Program Manager to complete
the program operating model and organization design. The Org Design Consultant will provide
hands-on development org charts, role descriptions, and definition of goals for global program
resources who will have roles on the program over the next 3+ years. The Org Design
Consultant work under direction of the Program Leadership Team and Human resources
to deliver the scope of work. Engagement with program leads and department people
managers will be needed to ensure alignment on resource assignments, roles, and goals for
temporary program roles.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Support the Program Manager as directed.
Review program materials to become familiar with policy details, process documentation,
high-level role definitions and initial drafts of resource plans to gain knowledge of work
done on org design to date.
Support program manager in completion of the comprehensive resource plan, including
assessment of resource allocations, assignment of named resources, and alignment with
program leads and department people managers.
Leveraging the high-level role descriptions already created, develop detailed role
description templates for each role type, aligning with the program project leads,
program leadership team, and human resources on role templates.
Engage with Human Resource on any HR required processes for the temporary program
roles, ensuring alignment with HR processes and a fit-for-purpose approach for
temporary roles.
Utilizing detailed role description templates, create individualized role descriptions for
each role, including specific timeframes of work, deliverables, % allocations and other
details needed to clarify roles.
Complete the development of team org charts aligned to the comprehensive resource
plans to provide clarity on reporting relationships.
Support program leads in definition of role performance criteria and objectives to be
included in annual HR employee goals for performance management. Facilitate
alignment with people managers and human resources to incorporate objectives into
regular performance reviews.
Support the Program Manager to document, assess, and monitor resource related
program risks, issues, and decisions.
Develop on-going resource management processes for assessment of roles, resource
allocations, performance assessment, on-boarding and off-boarding of resources in
conjunction with human resources and vendor management.
Identify and communicate anticipated training needs for individuals or teams to
effectively serve in the roles, as needed
Collaborating with HR, internal communications, and the readiness team to develop
communication plans and materials to ensure awareness about resource assignments to
temporary program roles.
Support functional departments in impact assessment from resources assigned
to the next round program.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and minimum 10-12 years of org design and/or operating model
design.
Experience designing roles as part of large-scale technology and business
transformation projects with budgets exceeding $5M.
Experience working alongside Human Resources to ensure alignment with HR
processes and procedures, as needed for temporary project roles
Experience defining both contractor and employee roles on large transformation projects
Experience working in global companies across multiple countries, cultures and time
zones is preferred.
Language
Fluency, both written and spoken, in English is required.
Fluency in any other language is a plus
