Responsibilities:

• We are seeking a Senior Product Owner to lead the discovery and delivery of a custom-built Order Management System (OMS) for Costco
• This role is part of a Discovery Pod focused on transforming a legacy OMS into a modern, microservices based architecture.
• The Product Owner will operate in a high ambiguity environment, building OMS capabilities from the ground up—often with limited business SME availability—while guiding distributed onshore and offshore engineering teams. This role requires deep ownership of requirements, strong backend and financial workflow understanding, and the ability to proactively apply OMS best practices rather than rely on existing product frameworks.
• Strong SAFe Product Owner craft (PI readiness, backlog hygiene, dependency/risk management) and
• Current, hands-on OMS domain expertise across core modules (order lifecycle, fulfillment, returns/refunds, cancellations, inventory/sourcing).
• Because SME availability may be limited, the PO must be able to lead requirements proactively and apply industry OMS best practices.

Skills:
 

• OMS domain depth (non-negotiable):
• 9–12 years working with enterprise OMS platforms (Manhattan, Blue Yonder, IBM Sterling, or custom-built OMS).
• Must demonstrate credible module expertise (not just “worked around OMS”).
• Recent OMS experience:
• Meaningful OMS work within the last 24–36 months (to avoid steep learning curve).
• Product Owner experience:
• 6–7+ years as a PO (or equivalent) in Agile/SAFe environments.
• SAFe execution mastery: PI Planning readiness, backlog refinement, OKR/DoR/DoD, dependency/risk management.
• Product craft excellence: user stories, workflows, journey maps, acceptance criteria.
• Retail / eCommerce / fulfillment domain exposure; omnichannel journey experience (Pickup, Delivery, Ship-to-Home, Returns).
