Developer Engagement creates user experiences and services to enable Apple's engineers to craft high-quality products. We are responsible for internal tools and supporting technologies that are critical parts of the Software Engineering workflow. We are seeking engineers passionate about delivering exceptional developer experiences and shaping how we build and test software at scale in support of macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS, Xcode, and more.
The Developer Engagement team is seeking a skilled engineer to contribute to the future of our internal systems, tooling, and developer adoption efforts. You will join a small but ambitious team responsible for supporting a large-scale functional build and test system, iterating closely with internal software engineering teams to take Apple's own software to the next level.\n\nThis role offers an exciting blend of hands-on engineering work and meaningful collaboration with internal developer teams. You'll have the opportunity to build innovative tools, automations, and integrations, while actively engaging with developers to enhance their experience. Your efforts will play a crucial role in driving the adoption of new capabilities and gathering valuable feedback that influences product direction. You'll empower developers by helping them find the tools that meet their needs, guiding them through the adoption process, and ensuring a seamless feedback loop between users and engineering teams.\n\nThe ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with a passion for developer experience, exceptional communication skills, and the curiosity to leverage AI to continuously improve workflows, both your own and those of the developers you support.
4+ years industry experience\nBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience\nExcellent customer collaboration and communication skills, including experience working across technical and non-technical stakeholders\nProficient in modern scripting or compiled languages (Python, Swift, C/C++, etc.)\nFamiliar with continuous integration, software testing, and build methodologies\nDesigning and using web service APIs\nAutomation development experience in high-scale operating environments\nComfortable using AI-assisted tools and workflows as a core part of day-to-day engineering work\nOn-call availability when needed
Experience incorporating AI/ML capabilities or LLM-based workflows into developer-facing tools or processes\nAbility to refine user requirements and prototype new solutions from scratch\nExperience driving adoption of developer tools or platforms across engineering organizations\nmacOS, iOS, or UNIX development experience\nAbility to maintain composure and customer-service focus in high-pressure situations\nFlexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
