Role: Sr AI Engineer
Duration: Long term, multi-year contract

100% remote – though, 75% travel, expenses are covered by client - traveling
I need someone who can truly deploy autonomous agents in an enterprise environment and understands compliance, security, cloud operating environment, containerization, orchestration, data layer access and security, RAG or other search connectors, etc. They don''t need to be experts in every area though. The main question to ask is: Can you tell me where you''ve built a custom autonomous AI agent and walk me through the build and deployment. That will answer 90% of whether they can do this job day one.
Role & Engagement Model
Staff augmentation roles (“hands on keyboard”)
Engineers must be:
Senior-level software developers
Experienced deploying production-grade enterprise systems
Comfortable writing, reading, and debugging code without relying solely on AI tools
Familiarity with code augmentation tools (e.g., Claude) is a plus, but core engineering fundamentals are mandatory.
NOT looking for someone who has just done proof of concepts.
Ideal candidates:
Have deployed complex enterprise systems into production
May have formal AI/ML experience or gained it informally
Must understand enterprise deployment patterns, scalability, and reliability
AI / Agent Tooling:
Open-source scaffolding such as LangChain
Other orchestration frameworks
Containerization & DevOps:
Docker
Kubernetes for orchestration
Data Platform:
Databricks with Unity Catalog for data pipelines
No plans to use Microsoft Fabric
AI Model Strategy:
Building a multi-modal abstraction layer
Supports OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and other providers
Vendor-agnostic LLM / model orchestration approach
