Position: Utilization Management Specialist - Behavioral Health
Location: Remote(Must reside in the DMV area – Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC)
Duration: 6+ Months

We are seeking experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to join our client's Utilization Management team. This role focuses on reviewing and evaluating requests for autism treatment services to determine medical necessity and ensure timely, accurate authorization decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Review treatment plans and authorization requests for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy

• Evaluate medical necessity for autism services

• Approve or deny authorization requests based on clinical criteria and utilization management guidelines

• Communicate decisions effectively with providers and clinicians

• Manage a high-volume caseload while meeting regulatory timelines

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with utilization management standards

Required Qualifications:

• Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification

• Active Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC BCBA license

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed BCBA working directly with children diagnosed with autism

• Experience developing and overseeing autism treatment plans and ABA therapy programs

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Utilization Management, case management, or authorization review experience

• Knowledge of MCG, InterQual, McKesson, or ASAM criteria

• Experience with EMR systems, electronic documentation, and Microsoft Office
