Summary

Job Title: Next.js Lead Developer

Type: Long Contract

Location: San Ramon, CA (Regular Onsite)

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Next.js Lead Developer to drive the design, development, and delivery of high-performance web applications. This role requires strong technical expertise in modern frontend technologies, leadership capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

You will be responsible for building scalable applications, mentoring developers, and ensuring best practices in code quality, performance, and architecture.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of web applications using Next.js, React, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance frontend architectures
  • Collaborate with backend teams, designers, and product managers to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed, SEO, and performance
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development workflows
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior/mid-level developers
  • Integrate APIs, third-party services, and headless CMS platforms
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex production issues
  • Stay updated with the latest frontend and Next.js ecosystem trends

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in frontend development
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Next.js and React
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
  • Experience with SSR (Server-Side Rendering), SSG (Static Site Generation), and API routes
  • Solid understanding of web performance optimization and SEO best practices
  • Experience with state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, etc.)
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
  • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design
  • Experience with version control tools like Git
  • Excellent problem-solving and leadership skill
