Role Overview
This position is for an entry-level engineer responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power-related systems. The role involves supporting estimate preparation, developing design options, and preparing construction specifications. The Engineer 1 will also provide guidance and quality assurance for contractors, ensuring design solutions meet established standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Pull mechanical and electrical drawings from the drawing repository.
- Perform field walkdowns with drawings to identify and mark up discrepancies.
- Sketch system P&ID's for missing drawings and components.
- Assign drawing asset and component numbers and names based on company standards.
- Develop naming spreadsheets for components and assets.
- Install physical tags on assets and components in the field.
- Track and communicate project progress and provide regular updates to the team.
- Support construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations.
- Contribute to creating a safe work environment by prioritizing safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
Education: An accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
Experience: 0-5 years of related engineering experience.
Skills:- Introductory knowledge of engineering principles.
- Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on established procedures.
- Familiarity with basic discipline-specific software applications.
- Ability to build effective professional relationships with plant staff, design engineers, and vendors.
- A strong work ethic and a positive attitude are necessary for this role.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $25.00 to $31.49 per hour. The final pay rate will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and other factors. A benefits package may be available to eligible employees.
