Summary

We are seeking a forward-thinking Tech Lead to help shape the future of the Streamliner team within Workplace Technology. In this role, you will provide technical leadership for the design, evaluation, integration, and adoption of innovative technologies that accelerate business outcomes and improve how IT solutions are delivered. You will play a key role in building intelligent automation, scalable platforms, and proof-of-concept solutions that address complex technology challenges while driving measurable value across the organization.

This role also champions the practical application of Generative AI, helping engineering teams increase productivity, enhance quality, and unlock new opportunities for innovation. As a hands-on technical leader, you will mentor engineers, influence architecture decisions, and foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and operational reliability.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the architecture, design, development, implementation, and support of complex software solutions across cloud-native and legacy technology environments.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for critical applications, platforms, and engineering initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with business goals.
  • Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices, cloud technologies, automation, and AI-assisted development tools to improve team efficiency and delivery outcomes.
  • Evaluate technical options, recommend solution approaches, and review key technical deliverables to ensure quality, security, and long-term maintainability.
  • Design and implement event-driven architectures and cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as ECS (Fargate), Lambda, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical technical solutions and communicate impacts of technology decisions.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, perform root cause analysis, and proactively identify and mitigate operational and technology risks.
  • Promote engineering excellence through architecture reviews, code reviews, testing practices, observability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop engineers by sharing technical expertise, coaching best practices, and supporting ongoing skill development.
  • Ensure compliance with technology, security, and risk management policies while maintaining a security-first mindset across all solutions.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, standards, architectural diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant technology experience, including at least three years of software development experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading technical initiatives through hands-on engineering, mentoring, architecture guidance, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience designing, building, and supporting production-grade applications in both legacy and cloud-based environments.
  • Strong proficiency with AWS technologies, including CloudFront, S3, ECS, IAM, Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, Glue, Athena, and Step Functions.
  • Experience developing modern applications using Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Spring Framework, and Python.
  • Front-end development experience with Angular, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, and testing frameworks such as Jest.
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, microservices, API integration patterns, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL-based development.
  • Proficiency with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and GitHub-based workflows.
  • Experience using observability and monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Honeycomb, CloudWatch, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with Security Services APIs, Okta integrations, and legacy/NGA web service applications is preferred.
  • Experience leveraging Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar platforms) to improve software quality, developer productivity, and delivery outcomes.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to building high-quality, resilient, secure, and observable systems.
