Technical Delivery Manager – Data Center Exit & Migration
Job Summary
The Technical Delivery Manager will lead the successful planning and execution of complex data center exit, application migration, and infrastructure transformation programs.
This role owns end-to-end technical delivery, ensuring that applications, platforms, and infrastructure are migrated, retired, or decommissioned safely while maintaining business continuity.
You will act as the bridge between engineering, operations, facilities, vendors, and business stakeholders, driving execution from strategy through final facility shutdown.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Program Leadership
Own end-to-end technical delivery for data center exit and migration initiatives.
Define delivery roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and shutdown sequencing.
Lead cross-functional teams across IT, infrastructure, applications, security, facilities, and vendors.
Ensure delivery aligns with business goals, compliance, and risk tolerance.
Data Center Exit & Migration
Plan and execute data center closures and infrastructure exits.
Coordinate application migrations (rehost, refactor, retire, replace) with physical and virtual asset decommissioning.
Manage cutover, rollback, and hypercare activities.
Oversee network, compute, storage, power, and cooling drawdown.
Technical Governance
Lead discovery and dependency mapping across applications, services, and infrastructure.
Define and enforce architecture, security, and operational standards.
Ensure documentation, CMDB updates, compliance, and exit criteria are met.
Risk & Stakeholder Management
Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and business risks.
Provide executive-level reporting, dashboards, and recommendations.
Manage vendor relationships and third-party delivery partners.
Required Qualifications
8+ years in technical delivery, infrastructure, or transformation roles.
Proven experience leading data center exits, closures, or large-scale migrations.
Strong knowledge of:
Data center infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, power, cooling)
Virtualization and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform preferred)
Application migration strategies and dependency management
Experience with asset decommissioning (physical & virtual).
Strong program governance, risk management, and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Skills
ITIL / PMP / SAFe / PRINCE2 certification
Experience with CMDB, ServiceNow, discovery tools
Knowledge of security, compliance, and regulatory shutdown processes
