Azure DevOps Automation Consultant

Introduction

We’re seeking an Azure DevOps Automation Consultant to make software delivery and cloud operations more efficient through automation. The consultant will design and maintain automated CI/CD workflows, automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments, and improve operational processes using Azure DevOps and Azure services. They will also help strengthen reliability, security, and consistency across the delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to automate build, test, release, deployment, and operational workflows.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Configure and manage Azure DevOps Services, including Boards, Repos, Pipelines, and Artifacts, to support automated delivery.
• Develop reusable automation scripts and pipeline templates using PowerShell, Azure CLI, YAML, or similar technologies.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
• Automate application and infrastructure deployments across Azure environments.
• Apply Git and Azure Repos practices, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code management, to automation assets.
• Integrate security scanning, vulnerability management, and compliance controls into automated workflows.
• Monitor automated deployments and troubleshoot pipeline, infrastructure, and release issues.
• Improve logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational automation across Azure environments.
• Collaborate with development, architecture, infrastructure, and security teams to improve delivery speed and reliability.
• Document automation solutions, pipeline configurations, architecture, and operating procedures.
• Provide technical guidance for DevOps automation, modernization, and cloud migration initiatives.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of overall IT experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Azure DevOps experience.
• Strong experience designing and implementing automation for CI/CD, deployments, or cloud operations.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps Services and Azure Pipelines.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience developing automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, YAML, or similar technologies.
• Experience automating infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
• Experience with Git and Azure Repos.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, Agile, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with cloud deployment automation and configuration management.
• Familiarity with integrating security and compliance controls into automated pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• At least one relevant Microsoft Azure or DevOps certification.
