Job OverviewWe are seeking a qualified
Fire Alarm & Low Voltage Systems Technician to join a skilled team responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of Fire Alarm systems, CCTV, Burglar Alarm systems, and Access Control solutions. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that requires technical expertise, the ability to work independently in the field, and strong communication skills.
This position is open to backfill a recently vacated full-time role and plays a critical part in maintaining service continuity for ongoing projects and customer accounts in the Memphis area.
Key Responsibilities- Install, service, and maintain Fire Alarm, CCTV, Burglar Alarm, and Access Control systems
- Respond to service calls and perform troubleshooting and repairs
- Identify system issues and implement effective corrective solutions
- Perform system testing, documentation, and customer sign-off
- Ensure compliance with electrical, fire, and safety codes
- Work independently or as part of a technician team
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a professional onsite presence
Required Skills & Qualifications (Top Skills)- Fire Alarm system installation and service experience
- Low-voltage cable installation experience
- Active TN/MS Fire Alarm License
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and system-related issues
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills- Cat5 / Cat6 cabling
- Access control system installation and service
- CCTV and security system experience
- Burglar alarm systems
- General cable technician experience
Additional Qualifications- Installation, programming, and service of fire alarm systems
- Installation, programming, and service of access control systems
- Experience with low-voltage communications systems
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance
- Use of testing devices to troubleshoot electrical issues
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Strong attention to safety and equipment care
Work EnvironmentThis role requires regular onsite presence at commercial customer locations. Candidates must be comfortable working in active environments while providing direct technical support and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
