Summary
Role Overview
We are seeking an accomplished SAP S/4 Service Lead with deep functional expertise in SAP S/4HANA Service, with a strong emphasis on Field Service Management and Advanced Execution. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end service management workstreams, partnering with business stakeholders, technical architects, and integration teams to deliver scalable solutions across service contracts, equipment management, service orders, and field execution. This is a hands-on lead role requiring a proven track record of delivering complex SAP Service implementations and driving best-practice adoption.
Must-Have Qualifications
• SAP S/4HANA Service – Field Service with Advanced Execution: Demonstrated, hands-on implementation experience is mandatory.
• Project Track Record: Minimum of 2 full-lifecycle SAP S/4 Service implementation projects.
• Legacy SAP Foundation: Prior experience delivering SAP CS (Customer Service) and/or SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) projects.
• Total Experience: Minimum 15 years of overall experience in SAP Service domains.
• Travel: Willingness and availability to travel to Midwest client locations as project needs require.
Core Functional Expertise (Hands-On)
The candidate must demonstrate strong, hands-on configuration and design experience across the following SAP Service objects and processes:
• Service Contract Management: Contract creation, billing plans, entitlement validation, and renewal lifecycle.
• Functional Location (FL) & Equipment: Master data design, hierarchy modeling, serialization, and installed base management.
• S/4 Service Order: End-to-end service order processing, status management, and integration with logistics.
• Maintenance Order: Planning, scheduling, execution, and settlement, with PM/CS interoperability.
• DIP Profile (Dynamic Item Processor): Configuration for resource-related billing, characteristic mapping, and quotation/billing flows.
• Confirmations: Time, material, and service confirmations across desktop and mobile field execution.
• CATS Integration: Cross Application Time Sheet integration with Service/Maintenance orders for labor capture.
• Service Quotation: Quote-to-order processes, pricing strategies, and approval workflows.
• Parts Planning & Execution: Parts requirement determination, reservation, picking, dispatch, and field consumption.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of SAP S/4 Service solutions, including Field Service with Advanced Execution capabilities.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable functional designs, ensuring alignment with SAP best practices and S/4HANA target architecture.
• Drive solution workshops, fit-gap analyses, and design authority sessions with business and IT stakeholders.
• Define and document configuration, functional specifications, integration designs, test scripts, and cutover plans.
• Partner with technical, integration, and data teams on interfaces (CATS, CRM, Mobile, third-party FSM tools, billing, finance, and logistics).
• Mentor junior consultants and serve as a subject matter expert across CS-to-S/4 Service transformations.
• Support testing cycles (SIT, UAT), defect triage, hypercare, and post go-live optimization.
• Engage with onshore client stakeholders during travel windows for workshops, design sign-offs, and key delivery milestones.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience leading transitions from legacy SAP CS / PM to S/4HANA Service.
• Exposure to Field Service Management mobile solutions and offline execution scenarios.
• Working knowledge of Variant Configuration, Solution Quotation, or Service in SAP CRM.
• SAP S/4HANA Service certification.
• Industry experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, high-tech, utilities, or aftermarket services.
