This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

  • Communicate with business users and ITSD team members.
  • Develop, test, debug, deploy, and maintain code for applications within DESE's portfolio.
  • Coordinate and work with agency staff on open tickets and requests.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of C#, VB ASP.Net, MVC, JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap, and Visual Studio.
  • Familiar with Azure DevOps (ADO) and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • A strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience with SSRS.
  • Familiar with ServiceNow.
  • Hands on experience with Web Accessibility and Responsive Web Design is desirable.
  • Be self-motivated and have the desire to continually develop new skills and improve existing skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate's name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.

Knowledge of the core programming language used in the assigned area. Knowledge of computer logic statements and their applications. Ability to learn and apply concepts. Ability to perform basic mathematics. Ability to provide logical and innovative ideas, and think critically to resolve issues. Ability to communicate with staff, management, and agency personnel.
