Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Snowflake Data Architect with a strong background in SAP analytics and approximately 10 years of total IT experience. The ideal candidate will be an expert in designing and implementing robust data solutions in Snowflake, with a primary focus on integrating and modeling data from SAP S4HANA and SAP BW. You will be a key player in architecting our data platform, leveraging your deep understanding of SAP data structures and analytics concepts. You will use Azure Data Factory (ADF) to build data pipelines and work closely with our analytics team to deliver powerful data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture and design of data solutions in Snowflake, with a special focus on data originating from SAP S4HANA and SAP BW.
• Leverage deep knowledge of SAP analytics (including ABAP CDS views and SAP BW) to design effective and optimized data extraction and modeling strategies.
• Architect and implement scalable ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory to ingest data from SAP and other sources into Snowflake.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust data models and data warehousing solutions in Snowflake, applying concepts like star schema, medallion architecture, facts, and dimensions.
• Implement and manage data security frameworks, including object-level Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies, row level security, and secure data sharing.
• Monitor and optimize Snowflake resource utilization for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct performance tuning of Snowflake data models to ensure efficient data processing and querying.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to translate business needs into technical data solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Around 10 years of total IT experience, with a significant portion spent in data warehousing and analytics roles.
• Proven experience as a Snowflake Architect, with deep knowledge of its architecture and capabilities.
• Strong analytics background and hands-on experience with SAP systems, specifically S4HANA (ABAP CDS views) and/or SAP BW.
• Strong proficiency in data warehousing concepts (star schema, SCDs, medallion architecture) and creating data models.
• Experience with one or more ETL/ELT tools for data integration.
• Expertise in implementing security, data sharing, and resource management in Snowflake.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
• Direct experience using Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data integration.
• Demonstrated experience in performance tuning of large-scale data warehouse environments.
