Summary

AWS SME (Cloud Architect / Cloud Infrastructure Expert)
Location: Jackson, MS (Hybrid Must be onsite at least 1 week per month)
Duration: 12+ Months Contract (Likely Extension)

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced AWS Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support enterprise AWS cloud environments, provide cloud architecture guidance, troubleshoot complex cloud issues, implement governance and security best practices, and mentor internal teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, multi-account environments, cloud migrations, and enterprise cloud operations.

Required Skills
Deep expertise with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudFormation
Experience leading AWS cloud migrations and enterprise implementations
Strong networking and connectivity troubleshooting skills
Experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, and Landing Zone Accelerator
Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK)
CI/CD pipeline experience
AWS security best practices including IAM, SCPs, encryption, and network segmentation
Experience with Docker, ECS, EKS, and serverless architectures
Strong troubleshooting across compute, storage, and networking layers
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
Ability to lead architecture reviews and design scalable cloud solutions

Preferred Skills
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
Government or highly regulated industry experience
ITIL, Agile, or PMP knowledge
Hybrid cloud and multi-cloud experience
Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting
