Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Node.js Developer to join our engineering team supporting digital banking initiatives at Citizens Bank. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development experience, a solid understanding of APIs and microservices, and exposure to financial services or enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js
Build and consume RESTful APIs and microservices
Collaborate with front-end developers, product teams, and architects
Work on high-performance, secure, and scalable applications in a banking environment
Integrate third-party services and internal systems
Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and best practices
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies
Implement logging, monitoring, and performance tuning
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of backend development experience
Strong expertise in Node.js and frameworks like Express.js
Experience building REST APIs and microservices architecture
Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+)
Experience with databases: SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB)
Familiarity with authentication/authorization (OAuth, JWT)
Experience with Git and version control
Strong understanding of API security and best practices
Experience working in Agile environments
