About This Opportunity

An established automotive repair shop is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Automotive Technician in Sparks, Nevada. This position is ideal for a strong technician with advanced diagnostic skills who can accurately troubleshoot a wide range of vehicle concerns.

The role offers hourly compensation with production bonuses and earning potential up to $120,000+ annually based on experience and production. The shop operates Monday through Friday and provides medical benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, paid training, and uniforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose complex automotive mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
  • Troubleshoot EVAP system faults, misfires, electrical issues, and communication/bus concerns
  • Perform transmission diagnostics and identify appropriate repair needs
  • Complete general automotive repairs and maintenance as workflow requires
  • Inspect vehicles and accurately identify needed repairs
  • Diagnose and repair domestic, Asian, and European vehicles
  • Work on light-duty diesel vehicles, including fleet applications
  • Complete repairs accurately while supporting an efficient shop workflow

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience
  • Intermediate to advanced automotive diagnostic capabilities
  • Strong electrical, drivability, and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working on a variety of domestic, Asian, and European vehicles
  • Light-duty diesel experience is a plus, particularly with Chevrolet, Ford, and Ram 2500/3500 vehicles
  • ASE certifications are a plus but are not required
  • Must provide personal automotive tools appropriate for the work performed

Compensation & Benefits

  • Earning potential up to $120,000+ annually based on experience and production.
  • Hourly compensation plus production bonus
  • Production bonus tiers provide an additional $5 per hour at 30 flagged hours, $10 per hour at 35 flagged hours, and $15 per hour at 40 flagged hours
